Great Spangled Fritillary (Speyeria cybele)
(Click image for a larger view)

As I was working in the front garden this morning, a Great Spangled Fritillary (Speyeria cybele) was working as well gathering nectar from the flowers. I stopped my work and grabbed the camera to try and get a shot. At one point it was as if it was posing for my camera as it spread it wings and stayed still for several minutes. The photo above was as best as I could do; my camera is not functioning properly and I don't have the funds to replace it so I just make do with it.

RonWow! This is a truly spectacular photo! The luminescent colors and contrasts are really quite impressive.
